Net capital outflow from Russia by the private sector by the end of 2020 increased 2.2 times compared to the same period last year and amounted to $47.8 billion, the Bank of Russia said in a statement. At the end of January – December 2019, the indicator stood at $ 22.1 billion. “Unlike the situation in 2019, when operations to build up foreign assets played a significant role, last year the main form of net lending to the rest of the world by the private sector was a reduction in external liabilities, formed in a close proportion by banks and other sectors”, the Central Bank added.
